South America is a small region with only 4 territories. The player that holds this region will gain an additional 2 reinforcements per turn.

Being one of the easier regions to conquer, one must be aware of opposing players that also try to take this region. With two points to defend from rather than one (as with Oceania), the player that holds South America may find it difficult to expand later in the game if they do not have other territories to attack from. The player that holds South America is usually competing with the player that holds or is attempting to hold Africa. If another player gains North America, it usually spells the end for whoever holds South America unless it is dealt with quickly. The most effective way to use to South America is to conquer it quickly and maintain territories outside of the region.
